Gluten Free Living: My first review for you

Having been diagnosed with Celiac Disease in the last year I have had to make major dietary changes. The hardest thing I have found to replace is hamburg and hot dog buns. I hear UDI's makes a good one but I have not been able to locate them in my local stores. My only option has been Kinnikinnick Hot dog rolls. Out of a 5 star rating I give them a 2. They are very dry and a hard roll, Nothing like a traditional whole wheat soft hot dog bun. It crumbles as you eat it. I will just eat my gluten free hot dog's bunless if this bun is my only option.

For those who have had to go gluten free, What has been your biggest challenge? What is your favorite gluten free food?

With all of the fuss over TLC's extreme coupon show more people are talking about the use of coupons. I see so many posts and wonder "how do they do it?".
The answer is first they set aside the time and focus on it. This is where I lose by not making time to sort coupons and match sales. When I do bother to make the time I do save money.

I was just cleaning out a pile of papers that had built up in my office and found notations I had made from a Hannaford Shopping trip on July 5th. I spent 37.82 but saved 32.18. I ended up with free peroxide, free fresh peas, free cubed steak. I paid .27 cents for an angus steak. I got cat litter for half price and almost free wax paper. All because I took the time. My goal to do more of this and see how much I can save over the year to put towards other bills.

I won't ever be an 'extreme' coupon shopper as we've heard and seen there is a lot of fraudulent use of coupons on that show. I just want to save some money on my family's grocery bill and make our money stretch further each month.

In the last week days I have gotten emails from not one but 5 different companies that I have done business with online in the past several years. The emails are alerts that files containing customer emails have been compromised. They reassure us that nothing other than email address's was compromised. They warn us of an increase in spam and to be very careful if getting an email from them that asks for personal information etc.

It is very weird to me that all of a sudden someone is hacking and stealing email address's. Yes I have noticed my spam box is much fuller than normal. What is going
on that there is this sudden increase in alerts that companies files have been compromised?

So my words of wisdom to you on this Tuesday morning is to be very careful who you give your information to. When online stay safe!

Today December 26th I think is a good time to start planning to limit the clutter and chaos and increase the amount of Christmas joy for the 2010 Christmas season. At the moment I'm looking at the piles of opened gifts and kids candy wrappers scattered. My hat is off to those moms who not only have the jobs of mother, housewife but also work a job outside the house.

First step to planning next year, making a spreadsheet of whom we will be sending cards/gifts to. Maybe then I won't feel quite as scatterbrained as I did this year?

Though it is football and soccer season that is not the type of score I am referring to. I am referring to scoring free items by using coupons.

On Aug 25th I recieved a FREE T shirt from olympia sports by bringing in a coupon for a free T that they had in their flyer as a promotional offer. (6.99 value)

On 8/31 My twins each recieved 5.00 of free build a bear merchandise by being a member of their birthday club. Build a bear had sent them each a 5.00 gift certif/coupon for their birthdays.

Borders I recieved a 15% off email coupon for my birthday and had a 10.00 gift certificate that I had earned at mypoints.com so basically I scored free books.

staples I had a 6.00 coupon for bringing in 2 ink cartridges for recycling and found copy paper normally 4.50 marked down to 2.00 each as a promotional sale.. I bought three packs for free and recieved a rebate form for 2 of the packages so MADE 4.00!!

Frustrating: Firefox/Google/Auctiva Attack Warning

How frustrating this is? VERY frustrating. Today the blogs and forums are buzzing with the uproar over the attack warning on Auctiva. The reason? Many sellers are losing business (myself included) when potential buyers click on eBay listings that have images hosted from Auctiva. Those buyers are warned that they are clicking on a suspicious site.. how many of those buyers will click back and back away and result in lost business to many eBay sellers? You can bet the numbers who wont proceed is a high one. Just about to launch its own ecommerce stores faith in them is dwindling. Auctiva's advice is to disable your security warnings.. how many people want to do business with someone who tells you to disable your security? well I'm off to see how many Auctiva links I can remove from my blogs and 142+ listings and hope to minimize the damage done by this current infection in Auctiva.
yes it appears there was actually a trojan infection on the Auctiva servers.

My doctor had some advice... I am surprised a simple change in shoe type/brand has decreased the pain so much. Since switching to a 'stability' sneaker Pain is down and productivity is up. Thank you New Balance (no I'm not getting paid to advertise them).
The other major brands too have good shoes but since I know New Balance works I have stuck with them. Here is what I have learned ...

Good concept but not the one I'd recomm

Pros: Lightweight, Easily Assembled, Ergonomic Feel

Cons: Not always stays stuck, Difficult to Dry, Comes loose often

Best Uses: Toddlers, Bathroom Safety, Bathing

the suction cups don't always stay secure, I've seen two or three other models I'd recommend for better safety.
